Technical Program Manager

Product Staff
Paris / New York / Remote

About the team

Adaptive ML is helping companies build singular generative AI experiences by democratizing the use of reinforcement learning. We are building the foundational technologies, tools, and products required for models to learn directly from users' interactions, and for models to self-critique and self-improve from simple written guidelines. Our tightly-knit team was previously involved in the creation of state-of-the-art open-access large language models. We have closed a $20M seed with Index & ICONIQ, and we are already shipping a first version of our product, Adaptive Engine, to our customers.

Our Product Staff is responsible for packaging the technology we build and turning it into an exceptional product that directly answers pain points companies encounter in their generative AI deployments. We strive to build a high-quality, intuitive, and robust experience for our customers.

About the role

We’re seeking a Technical Program Manager to drive the development and evolution of Adaptive ML's core platform. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of our technology, owning how customers interact with our products every day. Your technical expertise will be essential as you work closely with engineering and research teams to bring our product vision to life.

You will oversee coordination and collaboration across multiple engineering teams, managing both internal workflows and customer interactions. Your focus will be on ensuring the seamless delivery of engineering milestones, creating and managing product development & discovery processes and work streams. You will align diverse business and technical stakeholders to drive the execution of technical roadmaps, optimizing our product's performance and presence in the market.

This role is ideally in-person at our Paris or New York office, but we are also open to fully remote work.

Your Responsibilities

  • Product development, discovery, & prioritization, working closely with our customers, co-founders, and engineers to drive selection and prioritization of work, including systematizing the discovery process and ensuring it aligns with our product vision;.
  • Technical project management, partnering with engineering to define, scope, and sequence technical workstreams and identify dependencies to support successful execution;
  • Converting customer data, user feedback, and feature requests into detailed product requirements, user stories, and engineering specifications, while accounting for technical constraints, timelines, and resources;
  • Cycle management & agile practices, managing development cycles & timelines, breaking down user stories and issues into granular tasks assigned to design, backend, frontend, and data science teams;
  • Implementing tools and processes that facilitate continuous discovery and delivery, enabling quick prototyping and iterative development.

Your (ideal) background

The background below is only suggestive of a few pointers we believe could be relevant; we welcome applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds, do not hesitate to get in touch if you think you could be a great fit even if the below doesn't fully describe you.

  • Significant experience (at least 4-6 years) in software delivery management, either as a TPM, product manager, tech lead, or similar role;
  • Familiarity with product management techniques such as authoring product requirements documents (PRDs), specifications, and/or user stories. Should be comfortable managing developer workstreams using software such as Github, Jira, and Linear;
