HPE Partners with Adaptive ML to Deploy Reinforcement Fine-Tuning in its Private Cloud AI Offering
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is offering Adaptive Engine in their Private Cloud AI (PCAI) offering to help businesses accelerate GenAI projects from pilot to production.
Co-developed with NVIDIA, HPE PCAI provides the simplicity, speed and scale of the public cloud, while keeping your data private and secure. With an AI-optimized private cloud, engineers can build and deploy AI projects leveraging a rich ecosystem of models and development tools—now including Adaptive ML's Adaptive Engine.
Developing and deploying GenAI comes with many competing pressures for enterprises; businesses must adopt and integrate these technologies quickly, while also ensuring robust security, managing scalability, and controlling costs.
Most importantly, they must achieve consistent, production-grade performance from LLMs and confirm this through robust model evaluations. For many enterprises and use cases, prompt engineering alone doesn't deliver production-grade performance and supervised fine-tuning (SFT) isn't feasible due to a lack of training data. They need reinforcement fine-tuning to get the reliability, control and performance necessary for deployment.
HPE PCAI offers a cloud experience that keeps data private. By maintaining stringent control over data, enterprises can protect proprietary algorithms and sensitive information from unauthorized access or breaches. Retaining data proximity also ensures faster access and processing, improving the efficiency and performance of AI models.
Scaling AI initiatives to meet growing demands while managing costs effectively is essential. Enterprises must balance the need for computational power and storage with financial implications, ensuring AI deployments remain cost-effective as they scale.
By fine-tuning LLMs with reinforcement learning, Adaptive Engine allows enterprises to distill the behaviors and capabilities of much larger models into smaller ones, reducing GPU requirements without compromising on quality.
Instead of relying on constant prompt tinkering, businesses can embed their enterprise knowledge and safety requirements into the model itself using synthetic data, enabling seamless scaling with enhanced faithfulness and helpfulness.
Moreover, Adaptive Engine enables organizations to measure model performance against the business metrics they care about most. Users can customize a bespoke AI judge to evaluate key KPIs, such as RAG faithfulness, escalation rate, or query success.
With HPE PCAI, interoperability between Adaptive Engine and other GenAI tooling, such as NVIDIA NIM™ and HPE Greenlake cloud, is seamless. Enterprises can easily connect their RAG database to Adaptive Engine for more efficient data retrieval and tailored model adaptation.
